Registration Is Open For IBC 2007

Registration for IBC 2007 is now open, register at www.ibc.org
Exhibition-only registration is free, provided you register before 20 August.
As well as the 12 halls and outside exhibits, a free IBC pass also offers:
  • A free five-day travel pass for trams and buses in the city of Amsterdam;
  • Workshops in The Training Zone;
  • Business seminars in The Mobile and The IPTV Zone;
  • Value-added conference sessions, including 'What Caught My Eye';
  • Demonstrations and movies in The Big Screen Experience;
  • The IBC Awards ceremony.
Conference themes this year are:
  • Thursday - Broadcasting by broadband;
  • Friday - Shrinking world, growing markets, global business;
  • Saturday - Digital lifestyles: media to your home or on the move;
  • Sunday - Content production: creation - management - delivery;
  • Monday - D-cinema: the big screen is going digital.
Research organisation Gartner has predicted that IPTV will reach 3.3 million homes in Western Europe this year, rising to 16.7 million in 2010, creating a £3 billion marketplace.
IBC will cater for this new interest in IPTV, offering an IPTV Zone alongside the well-established Mobile Zone, in hall 12 of the exhibition.
Organisers said that there has been no slacking in the demand for outside exhibits so an additional outside area can be found this year in front of the registration pavillion, near hall 1.
Entrance to the IPTV Zone and Mobile Zone business briefings is free to all IBC visitors.
Regular attendees will know about IBC TV News, the event's own television news magazine, distributed around the hotels of Amsterdam each morning to set the agenda. The programme is also distributed by satellite worldwide each day, and the content is also available for download on the internet and to mobile phones and other devices.
