Miranda To Launch iControl Remote Station Monitoring At NAB

Miranda Technologies will launch the iControl Remote Station Monitoring (RSM) package at NAB, which enables a Network Operations Center to monitor multiple regional stations using rich visual and acoustic monitoring.
"Miranda has led the SNMP-based television monitoring market, with many large and highly customized installations," said Francois Gourvil, product development manager at Miranda.
"iControl RSM is based on this in-depth experience, and is highly adapted for regional station monitoring. By packaging the software, we can offer a highly affordable solution that is also remarkably quick and easy to configure."
The system uses Kaleido-Alto-HD multi-image processors at each remote station for signal monitoring and probing, with the signals streamed back using Allegro encoders as full motion video and audible audio to the iControl RSM desktop monitoring station. The system can be expanded to allow monitoring of up to 16 locations in total.
iControl RSM provides instant access to signal information, with operators able to "drill down" through multiple facility views to reach appropriate signal or alarm data. The system also offers 'Monitoring by Exception', which directs an operators' attention to the source of alarm conditions, without distraction from correctly functioning signals.
Comprehensive signal probing alerts operators to multiple types of faults, including video signal loss, video freeze, video black and audio silence. The system offers auto-sensing of multiple signal formats, including HD, SD, and analog video, as well as AES/EBU and analog audio.
The iControl RSM monitoring system is easily configured using a simple spreadsheet, with the system auto-setting to accurately reflect the names and types of all signals.
