Discovery Campus' Returns To Belfast

Capacity is almost full for Discovery Campus’ second visit to Belfast and the deadline of 2 March is fast approaching.
There are some exciting additions to an already very interesting programme. Stephen Segaller from WNET in New York will speak about their commissioning of topical subject matter from around the world for Channel 13’s Wide Angle series, while Films Transit present an exclusive screening of Manufacturing Dissent – a new film trailing the work of Michael Moore and analysing the ethics and methods of his filmmaking exposés. Other new guests participating in the already confirmed panels include Esteban Uyarra, director of The Trial of Saddam Hussein, and Michael Bonanno joining his Yes Men colleague Andy Bichlbaum and discussing the nature and use of humour in documentary filmmaking.
David Aukin will talk about developing docudrama such as The Government Inspector; Dianne Weyermann will discuss her experiences of producing An 'Inconvenient Truth'; Paul Watson will speak on the ethics of documentary filmmaking and about his film Rain in my Heart while Enron director Alex Gibney will present scenes and comment on his latest film Taxi to the Dark Side, which exposes the use of torture and renditioning in modern warfare.
This impressive list of speakers at the cutting edge of documentary, which has a growing ability to reach ever wider audiences and effect changes, will be supported by sessions involving commissioning editors such as Richard Klein, Angus McQueen, Eamon Hardy, Christoph Jorg and Hans Robert Eisenhauer.
