New Appointment For Twofour's New Drama Division

Twofour has announced that it is to move into drama with the appointment of Jo Wright as Head of a new Drama division.
This follows the appointments last year of Stuart Murphy as Creative Director, Joe Houlihan as Director of Programmes and Juliet Rice as Head of Factual Entertainment and reinforces Twofour's commitment to increasing its programming slate in new genres.
Twofour has also learnt this week that is has made it to the second round shortlist to produce a replacement for Dream Team on Sky One.
In addition, plans are underway to develop 10,000 square feet of spare capacity at the company's Plymouth headquarters as a television studio to facilitate its forthcoming run of dramas, comedies and quizzes.
Jo Wright has been Head of Film and TV Drama at Talkback Thames, Controller of Drama at LWT (Forgotten, Buried Treasure, Othello) and Head of Drama Series at BBC TV (EastEnders, Casualty, Silent Witness, This Life). Most recently she has produced the TV film Coup! for BBC TWO.
Wright said: "When Stuart called and told me of Twofour's wish to expand into drama he transmitted his huge enthusiasm and excitement for the future of the company, and I feel honoured to be made a part of that. With Stuart's involvement in dramas such as Bodies, Casanova and Funland, I feel confident that we can jointly work to develop a really fresh range of drama projects."
Creative Director, Stuart Murphy said: "Jo's got a great track record as someone who loves setting up mainstream dramas, and is just the kind of smart creative that we have been after to generate our first slate of drama projects. I think she'll love the creative atmosphere at Twofour - there's a real buzz here at the moment. I hope her appointment shows that we are serious about our drama aspirations and that as a company we hope to be able to produce shows to broadcasters across a range of genres."
