Axis Post Purchases Quantel Pablo DI Grading System

Axis Post has purchased a Quantel Pablo DI grading system with the aim of extending its product offering and providing clients with a one-stop-shop for their production and post-production needs.
Based at Shepperton Studios, the acquisition of the Pablo DI grading system serves as a natural evolution working alongside the HD and SD camera rental business.
“The Pablo represents a one-stop-shop with regards to editing, effects, grading and deliverables. This workflow is crucial to our clients working with tight budgets and timeframes,” stated Axis Post MD, Paul Carter. “The reputation of Quantel and the reliability of the technology were important factors in choosing the system, as was the ability to handle Hi-Def, media management and tapeless delivery. We weighed up all the options with a number of DI alternatives and the Quantel Pablo ticked all the boxes. As our first entry into the DI market we feel that the service and backup we have received from Quantel has been invaluable.”
Axis Post, serves existing film and video clients as well as those drawn by the quality and efficiency gains of the DI workflow. Axis is also working in a market that is based on the increasing adoption of tapeless HD acquisition, used for its superior image fidelity. “An increasing number of features adopting this workflow are using Shepperton/Pinewood and the fact that Axis Post is based on the studio lot will help to offer the complete shoot and post package right through to grade and delivery,” commented Carter.
