Leader Electronics At VideoForum 2007

Leader Electronics' range of multi-format HD/SD broadcast test equipment will be exhibited on Stand E2 at Video Forum 2007 in London's Earls Court exhibition centre, February 6-8.
Making its first UK exhibition appearance, the LV5800 modular multi-format broadcast signal analyser is an exceptionally powerful instrument enabling four SDI or HD-SDI sources to be viewed simultaneously. This capability reduces the time required to compare incoming signal feeds and greatly simplifies the task of identifying a defective signal or channel. The LV5800 has twin auto-detecting inputs and is compliant with all HD-SDI and SD-SDI standards, including 1080p/50 via Dual Link.
The intuitive user interface of the LV5700 and LV5750 is retained in the LV5800. This operational standardisation has proved highly popular with programme producers, post-production facilities and broadcasters as it allows staff to migrate easily from oneinstrument to another without having to learn a new set of operating routines.
The LV5800's front panel, including a high-resolution 1024 x 768 pixel XGA display, can be detached from the main body of the instrument and mounted directly to the back of a camera or to the wall of a mobile production vehicle. This eliminates the need to house the entire rack behind the mounting surface. Screens and information shown on the display can optionally be output to any compatible XGA monitor.
Digital audio is displayed as 3:1, 3:2, and 3:2:2 surround images, multi-lissajous, digital values in dB combined with error reporting and 8-channel or 16-channel bar-graphs.
The LV5800 autosenses input format, colorimetry and black burst or tri-level external reference input. Monitoring functions include waveform (YCbCr, YRGB, YGBR, GBR or RGB), vector, five-bars gamut display, picture (with closed caption) and surround-sound monitoring.
Alerts can be activated whenever a signal violates a user-preset threshold. A standard USB memory can be used to capture screen images, configuration settings and software/firmware updates.
"The objective at VideoForum 2007 will be to demonstrate the interactivity of Leader's HD broadcast test instruments," commented Paul Vos, Managing Director of elQuip BV, Broadcast Master Distributor for Leader Electronics Corporation in Europe. "The LV5700 and ultra-compact LV5750 video analysers, half U-width LV7700 rasteriser and 1 U LT443D multi-format video generator can all be integrated into a single system for remote operation via an internet link."
The Leader exhibit at Video Forum 2007 will be manned by Paul Vos (elQuip BV) and Mamoru (Mac) Tani (Leader Electronics) with colleagues Chris Margrave-Gregory and Alex Small from Leader's UK-based reseller Thameside TV.
