NRK Norway Advances With Ross Multi-Definition Switchers

Ross Video has announced that the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) has invested in seven Synergy 2 Multi-Definition (MD) digital production switchers. NRK plans to equip six regional offices with new HD ready switchers.
After extensive testing, Synergy proved to be the perfect match for NRK's need for an agile production switcher that could handle all their switcher requirements and HD at 720P-50. The Synergy switchers are installed in six NRK regional offices for regional news programming.
The Synergy 2 MD provides two full MLEs of processing power and an extensive array of available device control. Synergy MD will work well in newscasts, special event IMAG, mid-sized truck, and medium sized studio productions. The Synergy 2 MD is engineered with a future proof Multi-Definition architecture providing support for all popular SD and HD formats.
NRK (the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) is Norway's major broadcasting institution with nine radio channels and two TV channels with approximately 100% coverage throughout the country.
NRK also comprises of 11 regional offices whose journalists produce radio and TV programming for regional broadcasts and national networks, as well as the Internet.
NRK Regional Offices, cooperating in seven groups, produce regional TV news. There are NRK offices in 50 different locations throughout Norway in addition to 10 correspondents abroad.
