The Chambers Provides Cost Effective Refuge For Film-Makers

The Chambers, a boutique apartment residence in Leeds, has revealed that it is fast becoming a discreet ‘Media Hangout’ for those escaping the expense of the capital.
Michael Wilson, producer of the latest Bond film, 'Casino Royale', recently stated that London was the most expensive city in the world and spiralling hotel costs for film-stars and crew was a factor driving away the film industry.
In contrast, The Chambers, a boutique apartment residence in the centre of Leeds, has revealed that it has witnessed an increasing number of directors, producers and TV and film stars on its guest book, showing that the smart money is on the ‘Capital of the North’ when it comes to choosing a base whilst filming.
Guests at The Chambers have gone on to produce a long list of TV and Film, including 'Ghost Ship', 'Like Minds', 'A Touch of Frost', 'Booze Cruise' and 'The Bad Mother’s Handbook', to name but a few.
Christine Boothroyd, owner and creator of The Chambers, said: "Whilst we pride ourselves on being discreet about our guests, we’ve been open just over a year and in that time we have welcomed many influential figures in both the film and TV industry.
"It is no surprise that, with the exorbitant prices of London accommodation, people are being drawn to look elsewhere across the UK in order to film and Leeds makes for an ideal location.
Boothroyd added: "Being in the heart of Yorkshire, Leeds is a dynamic and diverse city and close to some breathtaking scenery, all of which are vital ingredients for producing award-winning TV and film."
