London Goes Latino For the Latin American Film Festival
The hottest ticket in town this autumn is the 16th Latin American Film Festival.
Held at the Curzon cinemas, Soho, Mayfair and Renoir it is the highlight of London's cultural calendar with a celebration of all things Latin American.
The Festival, which was awarded the Express News' Latin Excellence Prize in 2005 is bigger and better than ever, presenting an outstanding programme of innovative cinema, personal appearances by directors and readings by authors, as well as exhibitions by some of the most exciting contemporary artists. It is the biggest of its kind outside the Spanish speaking world and the first to draw attention to the cultural hot bed of cinema activity in Latin America, helping to establish such names as Gael Garcia Bernal, the darling of Mexican cinema.
The event founder and director, Cuban-born Eva Tarr Kirkhope promises to showcase a cornucopia of films that provide a first class insight into the current social, political and emotional climate of Latin America.
Tickets are priced £9.50 (£6.50 concessions) for Curzon Soho and Curzon Mayfair and £8.50 (£6.00 concessions) for Curzon Renoir.
Get your showcase pass: see 5 films for the price of 4 and save up to £13.50 (5 films £34; concessions £24)
