UK Firms Bring Broadcast Tech To Latin American Market

A trade mission to Broadcast & Cable exhibition in San Paulo has showcased proven solutions.
Sponsored by UK Trade & Industry and managed by Tradefair, 14 top British companies are exhibiting at the Broadcast & Cable show, 21 to 23 August in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This the second year that Tradefair has led a UK mission to the exhibition, and once again it showcases the technologies which underpin television and communication, from production through to the home.
Coming immediately after the conclusion of the highly successful London Olympics, and with Rio de Janeiro the host for both the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, this is a perfect time to evaluate what is required to deliver the best content in the best quality. The exhibitors are keen to share their experiences of London 2012 as part of developing new relationships with distributors and customers in Brazil and the whole of South America.
Products on show are the high precision, technical elements that are critical to reliable performance and excellent quality. Cogent Technologies and ETL, for example, offer satellite links which are essential to get content back from remote venues in a busy event like the Olympics. Object Matrix and XenData have solutions for archiving file-based content, particularly for securing content in post production.
Amberfin is using Broadcast & Cable for the Latin American launch of version 8 of its iCR content management platform, particularly focussing on unified quality control. Its quality tools complement the test and measurement devices made by Phabrix. Bentley Walker is a leading supplier of broadband communications by satellite, an ideal way to get the internet to remote areas.
"Brazil and the rest of the Latin American region are critical for exporters, with the broadcast market set to grow ahead of GDP in the coming years," said Mark Birchall of Tradefair. "The companies in this year’s mission to Broadcast & Cable forged successful bonds last year with the local sales channel and with broadcasters and professional producers in the region, and are demonstrating their commitment to the market by returning to strengthen still further their relationships."
The UK mission to Broadcast & Cable, organised by Tradefair, is centred on a UK Pavilion in the exhibition, at stand number G17. As well as the exhibition presence, Tradefair and UKTI are organising a number of networking events to help exhibitors, distributors and customers to share knowledge in an informal setting.
The complete list of companies taking part in the 2012 programme is: Amberfin, Amino Communications, Bentley Walker, Cogent Technologies, Eddystone Broadcast, ETL Systems, Novella SatComs, Object Matrix, Pebble Beach Systems, Phabrix, SGL, TSL Professional Products, Vislink and XenData.
