European Film Awards To Honour Jeremy Thomas

During the European Film Awards Ceremony on December 2 at the EXPO XXI in Warsaw, the European Film Academy will celebrate the renowned British producer Jeremy Thomas for his outstanding contribution to the world of film.
Jeremy Thomas will receive the award for European Achievement In World Cinema 2006 – Prix Screen International. The award, presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions gGmbH in co-operation with the international trade publication Screen International, honours an outstanding contribution by a European film professional to the world of cinema.
For more than thirty years, Jeremy Thomas has been active in the film business, and among his many films are 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' by Nagisa Oshima and starring David Bowie (1983), 'The Brave' by Johnny Depp (1997), 'Sexy Beast' by Jonathan Glazer (2000) for which Ben Kingsley received the award European Actor 2001, and 'Rabbit-Proof Fence' by Phillip Noyce (2002).
Among his latest productions are 'Young Adam' by David Mackenzie (2003), 'Don't Come Knocking' by Wim Wenders, 'Tideland' by Terry Gilliam (both 2005). and 'Fast Food Nation' by Richard Linklater (2006).
Jeremy Thomas will be in Warsaw for the Awards Weekend as a guest of honour.
