Main Concept Announces Availability Of DSP Hardware Cards

MainConcept, a worldwide leader of codec technology, has announced the availability and shipment of its first DSP hardware product after its debut at IBC.
The hardware/software solution MC-P512 SD is designed for usage in professional applications and other high-end environments, such as video editing and broadcast streaming.
MC-P 512 SD is based on a five TMS320DM642 DSPs Texas Instruments PCI board to provide SDI video encoding in D1 resolution. It will be shipped including MainConcept’s H.264/AVC codec, to bring the same unique quality of its PC based software video codecs to the realtime DSP environment. An MPEG-2 option for the board will ship later this year.

The evaluation kit consists of the board including drivers, the H.264 SDK and controller application with sample source code, documentation and access to technical support.
