BBC2 UNVEILS NEW AUTUMN HIGHLIGHTS

ONE of the highlights of the new schedule in BBC2’s new £85 million autumn schedule is a new drama.
The office-based drama ‘Attachments’, penned by ‘Cops’ creator Tony Garnett, combines the current fixation with the Internet and flirtation in the workplace. It will feature alongside the new Steve Coogan comedy ‘Consenting Adults’ and the new drama ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ from first-time TV writer Susan Nicholson.
BBC 2 controller Jane Root said Garnett's new drama set the tone for the channel's revamped output. She said: “If you want to see where BBC 2 is going just now, look at ‘Attachments’”.
Other highlights in the schedule include: ‘Changing Stages,’ a theatrical series by Sir Richard Eyre; ‘Beyond the Fatal Shore,’ in which historian Robert Hughes look at modern Australia; and ‘Friends for Dinner’ where celebrity cooks Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and Gary Rhodes nip round to 'ordinary homes' to help cook dinner.
