SQUINT FILMS AND SIRIOL SHOW NEW PROJECTS
CARDIFF-based animation companies, Squint films and Siriol have been chosen to show new projects at the cartoon Forum to be held in Sweden this September.
Every year over 218 potential investors, all interested in animation, participate in the Forum. This includes over 100 broadcasters and 118 investors/video editors who have the advantage of getting a sneak preview of the latest animation projects coming from 18 different European countries.
More than 172 projects presented at the Cartoon Forums have secured their financing, and are now in production of being broadcasted worldwide.
Gwawr Hughes, the Co-Ordinator of the European MEDIA-programme office in Cardiff said: “The purpose of the Cartoon Forum is to foster co-production and speed up financial arrangements in the area of European animation. It is great news that two companies from Wales have been selected on such a prestigious event this year.”
Ed Talfan of Squint Films will be attending with his project ‘Rockit Huntington’.
The project is to be directed by Jim Le Fevre, who Talfan last worked with on the BBC Wales Henry Heroes campaign, and written by Olly Smith.
Robin Lyons of Siriol will also be attending with a project called ‘Jelly Bean Beach’.
