BBC CONTROLLER TO BE REPLACED?

ANOTHER radical shake-up at the BBC may result in Peter Salmon, BBC controller being replaced.
The on-going changes at the BBC under director general Greg Dyke have caused a great deal of media speculation over the past months.
The latest changes include the move of the nightly news and the closure of two Birmingham studios resulting in 90 job losses.
It is expected that Salmon will be given a senior position at the BBC when he moves, even though it has been noted that over his three-year tenure his performance was not consistent. He did however have some notable success with Walking with Dinosaurs and the drama series Grafters.
A spokesperson for the BBC said that there were no plans for an imminent announcement and questions as to Salmon’s future were pure speculation.
The post of deputy director of television is vacant after David Doherty moved to the Flextech media group; Salmon is expected to take on this role under Mark Thompson.
