SALMON RETIRES FROM BBC RESOURCES

MARGARET Salmon, Chief Executive of BBC Resources since 1999 and before that Director of Personnel and Legal Affairs, has decided to take early retirement.
Director-General, Greg Dyke, said: "Margaret was planning to retire from the BBC two years ago but she was persuaded to take on the Resources role. She agreed then that she would do the job for two years and that’s what she has done.
"Personally, I’ve enjoyed working with Margaret for the past year and I think she has done a great job in getting the business into a position where we expect it will make its first profits next year. I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing Margaret well in the future."
Salmon said: "Working for the BBC for ten years, both as Director of Personnel during the 90s and Chief Executive of Resources, has been a tremendous privilege. My personnel years involved supporting colleagues through some exciting times. And I am pleased that as I leave Resources, the business is in such good shape to support the BBC in the future."
David Green, Salmon’s deputy, will take over as acting Chief Executive, BBC Resources. (CD)
