Digital Vision announce a key sale to M2

Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions has announced a key sale to M2, one of the world’s leading post production facilities located in the heart of London’s creative community.
Following highly successful demonstrations of the Digital Vision systems on the company’s booth at NAB2006, M2 has ordered two Nucoda Film Masters, the world's first complete resolution-independent end-to-end film finishing solution, an IO station and an HD DVNR image processing and restoration system.
The two Nucoda Film Masters and IO station will be installed in M2’s new high-end grading facility Narduzzo Too, set up by well known colourist Vince Narduzzo, who is a new partner in the M2 facility. The HD DVNR will be installed in M2’s archive and restoration facility, TK one.
”Film Master takes the next step in colour correction. It’s the most flexible and powerful grading system that I’ve ever used and it’s opening up a whole new world to colourists,” commented Narduzzo.
He continued: ”The system’s tracking dynamics are fantastic, if you previously wanted to track something around a shot you had to add hundreds of points to move it, which would never be perfect, you could never get the exact dynamics of the move. But with Film Master you can key a point on a person’s shoulder or the side of the head and then go to the end of the shot and mark that end point and track it, which is a real breakthrough. The fact that the system is non-linear is excellent because Film Master allows you to go anywhere on the EDL, which lends itself really well to long form work.”
Tom Jones, M2 Managing Director added: ”Vince partnered with the Film Master will be a dynamic combination for high-end finishing and grading of documentaries and drama at M2. We selected the Film Master because of its flexibility; having two systems will allow our colourists to collaborate. At M2, we have a history of working with servers which gives clients ultimate flexibility within our 11 offline suites, we are now translating that into the grading environment so that two colourists can work on a project when required; something that clients haven’t yet seen in the grading world."
