Sat-Comm select Brick House Video's Callisto

Designed for maximum functionality in tight quarters, Brick House Video’s Callisto - a full broadcast specification SDI/composite switcher - has been selected by Sat-Comm to furnish its latest compact Cygnus van with powerful switching features.
Sat-Comm, an innovative satellite and broadcast systems integrator located in Mildenhall, specialises in flight-cased and vehicle borne SNG systems.
Despite its diminutive size, Cygnus operates at the level of a much larger vehicle. A member of the Company’s Galaxy range of of Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) fleet, Cygnus is the ideal immediate response van for breaking news. With car-like handling Cygnus easily navigates city streets and can be transmitting live pictures within minutes of its arrival. It features an incredibly compact SNG solution including a fully redundant uplink system. Sat-Comm will benefit from Callisto’s small footprint as the perfect sized vision mixer for Cygnus’s comprehensive baseband system.
A full featured yet low cost 8-input SDI switcher with analogue composite and DSK options all in 1RU, Calllisto is a broadcast specification (SMPTE-259M), 8-input, 270Mbit video switcher and DSK designed for studio, edit suite and transmission applications. Callisto can handle fully asynchronous (unlocked) in a mixed signal format (SDI and analogue) environment.
The program and preview outputs are simultaneously available as both SDI and analogue composite, the latter being intended for monitoring. In addition, there are two switched auxiliary outputs for further SDI monitoring and routing. The incoming sources can be fully unlocked as Callisto features dual channel framestore synchronisers. The switcher will operate in stand-alone mode, or may be genlocked to an external reference. (CD/CL)
