CARTONI INTRODUCE LAMBDA NODAL HEAD

CARTONI, the Italian camera support designers and manufacturers, have introduced the Lambda nodal head.
Designed to accommodate film cameras fitted with long lenses, matte box and extra large magazines. The Lambda provides a high level of flexibility as it may be fitted to tripods, dollies, cranes and camera cars.
With the Lambda there is no need to change or disassemble a variety of additional platforms or risers to suit the optical centre of the camera. Adjustment of the centre of gravity is achieved by turning two independent wheels, which raise or lower the vertical setting platforms with precise positive movement offering the operators considerable time savings.
With no springs or similar counter measures required to set the head in a fixed tilt position, both pan and tilt movements have an identical feel.
The Lambda uses the Cartoni fluid drag control system on pan and tilt, allowing the damping levels to range from ‘0’ for freewheeling to ‘7’ for maximum drag.
The lens focal distance can be kept constant by choosing a suitable camera position with its relevant sliding plate.
