Sony appoints Climer as new head of Professional Solutions Europe

Sony has announced the appointment of Naomi Climer, former Director of Professional Services and Head of Media Sales, Western Europe, as the new Vice President of Sony Professional Solutions Europe.
Climer's primary task will be to continue to build market share for Sony's European media, broadcast and business operations, including digital signage, digital cinema and healthcare solutions, network video monitoring and video communication with the product brand 'IPELA'.
Climer brings with her a breadth of experience across the broadcast and business industry as well extensive expertise in the professional services space, including systems integration.
Speaking on behalf of Sony Corporation Broadcast & Professional Company, Japan, President Mitsuru Ohki said: “We see Naomi's appointment to this key European management position as a tremendous opportunity for our broadcast and professional business. Her engineering expertise coupled with her management experience at a major European broadcaster, gives her a unique understanding of our customers' needs and the challenges they face.
“We expect Naomi to use her invaluable experience to help us transition our European business and the broadcast solutions we offer to the increasing number of industries now adopting converged AV/IT solutions, system integration and service, while maintaining our number one position among our traditional broadcast customer base.
“As well as growing the business, Climer will also play a major role in the delivery of solutions that require the expertise of 'Sony United', such as sustaining the rate of adoption of High Definition in the professional world, establishing Sony as IPTV and mobile TV innovators as well as building the strongest possible business case for migration to digital cinema across Europe.

Climer will take the reins from Mitsuru Ito, who will return to Japan to take up a senior management role in Sony PCL Co. at the end of May.
