BBC REVEAL NEW DIGITAL CURRICULUM PLANS

THE BBC have revealed plans to launch an online service for children which could lead to whole classes being taught over the Internet within a year.
Corporation chiefs published a public-consultation document detailing plans for the proposed service.
The new ‘digital curriculum’ will take six years to introduce fully, and will eventually cover all primary level subjects right through to post 16 education.
BBC Chairman Sir Christopher Bland said: “The plans are ambitious. We believe they have the potential to help raise educational standards throughout the UK.”
Culture Secretary Chris Smith needs to approve the plans before they are implemented.
Whilst the service will initially be launched via the Internet, it is expected to be adapted for interactive digital television at a later stage.
