BBC SIGNS BULLDOG AS PRIME VENDOR

THE BBC have signed a seven year agreement to license and implement a digital product management and distribution solution with The Bulldog Group, developers of software applications.
Under the agreement, Bulldog will be one of a select group of suppliers to provide the technology infrastructure and software for the deployment of tailored digital asset management and distribution systems for the BBC.
The systems will be designed to support data models compliant with the BBC’s overall Standard Media Exchange Framework (SMEF), to allow the BBC to integrate a number of such systems in different areas of business.
The BBC expects SMEF supported media asset management to make workflows in TV and radio production more efficient, and to stimulate re-use and re-purposing of existing content.
Bulldog’s feature set, which includes automatic file indexing as well as customisable keywords and information, will help the BBC to integrate key information systems.
