PIXELMETRIX SCOOP PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

PIXELMETRIX have won the prestigious Peter Wayne Award at IBC 2000, for their DVStation Digital Video Monitoring System.
The DVStation monitors quality output in multi channel television. The award, sponsored by the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM), honours technical innovations for products appearing at IBC for the first time. Martin Salter, Chairman of the IABM, presented the award.
Danny Wilson, CEO of Pixelmetrix said: “Using human eyes to watch hundreds of screens is neither practical nor helpful in pinpointing which piece of equipment failed. With DVStation operators have an early warning system that helps them resolve errors before picture quality is affected.”
Chairman of the judging panel David Bradshaw, said: “The judges were particularly impressed by the user-friendliness of the interface, and the flexible configurations that the design permits. It fulfils a real need for the digital network operator faced with the task of maintaining quality across large numbers of channels.”
For the first time this year, the judges awarded plaques to recognise excellence in other products nominated for the award. Plaques went to Adherent for the StreamGrabber, a portable tool to assist the installation engineer, and to Maycom Audio Systems for its hand held solid state recorder.
