Tektronix And Pro-Bel Announce Integrated Digital Video Quality And Broadcast Management System

Tektronix and Pro-Bel have announced the availability of an integrated video quality and broadcast management system comprised of Tektronix Cerify and Pro-Bel's new Morpheus Quality Control (QC) Manager.
The combined systems provide the seamless management of ingest and transfer of assets in the broadcast workflow. Pro-Bel's Morpheus QC Manager is a key part of the Morpheus suite of automation, media management and control/monitoring solutions. The integration is achieved through use of the CeriTalk Application Program Interface (API), part of the Tektronix Cerify automated quality control systems. The integrated systems receive new material alerts from any Morpheus ingest application and using an XML interface, passes them to Cerify via the CeriTalk API. In addition, the QC Manager assigns an appropriate pre-determined test template for the quality check.
Links between the Morpheus QC Manager and the Cerify web-based user interface provide a status overview of files ingested on the video server network and enable a user to drill down and view file details and information about any quality errors and their exact location, right down to individual frames in the video and audio.
"Because the Morpheus QC Manager spans all aspects of the Morpheus range it is not limited to one specific workflow or process. For the first time, digital content delivered electronically - from within the system, recorded live, or even via third party store and forward solutions - can be marked for processing by the Tektronix Cerify system as soon as it arrives," said Howard Twine, Pro-Bel's Morpheus Product Manager. "The integration of our new QC Manager with the Cerify systems from Tektronix will provide customers with the ability to perform fully automatic, high performance quality checking and management of video assets to ensure that all ingested material is correct and ready for scheduling and playout."
"The integration of Cerify with Pro-Bel's Morpheus system will enable customers efficiently and automatically to manage their work-flow process," said Arif Kareem, Vice President, Video Products, Tektronix. "Cerify ensures consistent and thorough checks of incoming files to meet quality standards and reports results to the Pro-Bel Morpheus system. The combined systems provide the seamless management of ingest and transfer of assets in the broadcast workflow."
