Megahertz Broadcast Systems to transform Mercedes Sprinter van

Megahertz Broadcast Systems is currently transforming a Mercedes Sprinter van into a state of the art Outside Broadcast vehicle for Nigerian communications supplier, Ponglomerape Nigeria Ltd.
For the past decade, the Abuja-based Ponglomerape Nigeria has serviced the broadcasting and communications sector in Northern Nigeria with the consistent goal of improving information dissemination nationwide.
The OB van is destined for Kebbi State Radio, which operates the state radio service and broadcasts a variety of programming to audiences in Kebbi. The equipment will vastly improve service delivery levels from the station, enabling them to compete more effectively with national radio stations.
The new OB vehicle, the first in Kebbi State Radio’s fleet, will be used to cover news and sporting events and is expected to be completed end of March 2006.
Ponglomerape Nigeria has specified a Soundcraft Series 15 audio mixer for the truck, which will also be equipped with a fully synthesised STL transmitter link, a 10 meter pneumatic mast, a Trilogy radio talkback system and a full complement of cassette decks, receiver, CD players, microphones and on-board PA equipment.
The vehicle, which is being coachbuilt by Megahertz at its Cambridgeshire headquarters, will also incorporate its own power supply including a portable generator. On-site training for Kebbi State Radio staff will be provided by Megahertz once the vehicle is completed.
As an independent systems integrator, Megahertz Broadcast Systems has experience in both 'turnkey' fixed projects and the design and construction of sophisticated OB vehicles. Over the years the company has built OBs for many of the world’s top broadcasters, including the BBC and Kuwait Television.
