BFI TO AWARD SUTHERLAND TROPHY AT LONDON FILM FESTIVAL

THE BRITISH Film Institute (bfi) will be awarding the Sutherland Trophy on the closing night of the Regus London Film Festival (RFLL) on November 16 at the Odeon, Leicester Square.
Shortlisted films for this year's Trophy are 12 films from around the world. The awards is given to the director of the most original and imaginative first feature film screened during the two-week Festival.
First awarded in 1958, the bfi's 25th anniversary year, the Trophy was inaugurated by His Grace The Duke of Sutherland LT.PC. The winner will be decided by a jury of eminent film producers, distributors, exhibitors, critics and writers chaired by Adrian Wootton, Director of the RLFF
The shortlisted films for the Sutherland Trophy 2000 are:

‘Sexy Beast’ (dir. Jonathan Glazer / UK)
‘I Won't Go Back Home’ (dir. Albertina Carri / Argentina)
