Das werk novalisstrasse GmbH, the Berlin based subsidiary of PICTORION das werk, a postproduction firm with facilities located throughout Germany, has purchased a Resolve RT digital mastering suite for nonlinear grading of feature films, music videos, and commercials.
Resolve's ability to connect directly to das werk novalisstrasse's 15TB SAN, a unique characteristic of da Vinci's digital intermediate solution, has provided das werk novalisstrasse with the most efficient workflow for allowing multiple users to switch quickly and conveniently between material and equipment while also realising the full benefits of a DI process.
"We consider the nonlinear workflow of Resolve to be the only viable workflow for the future," said Wolf Bosse, factory manager of PICTORION's Berlin branch. "The ability to step backwards and forwards in our material and compare EDLs has provided us and our clients with a great leap forward in creativity. Working with high-resolution, real-time grading without proxies has proven to be an invaluable strength of Resolve."
