MUNRO DESIGN FFS MUNICH

MUNRO Associates, London-based designers, have converted an old cinema in the centre of Munich into a state-of-the-art film post production facility incorporating a large digital film dubbing centre.
The new studio for FFS is equipped with an AMS Neve DFC digital console, THX monitoring system based on Martin Audio speakers and UK construction company, Form & Funktion, supplied all of the acoustic treatment.
Andy Munro from Munro Associates said: “The projects we are designing at the moment are based on a progressive evolution from traditional film sound to a completely integrated solution for the new digital, high definition era of electronic cinema. The days of vast theatres and banks of magnetic recorders and high projectors will eventually disappear but for some years there will be a coexistence with hard disk systems and digital transfer both from and back to film.”
Among the facilities on offer in Munich and Berlin are seven voice-recording theatres, a mixing theatre, a DVD suite and video-post-production.
