Presentable’s William Hill Poker Grand Prix goes to Sky

Presentable, the production company which originated poker on television, has sold The William Hill Poker Grand Prix, 8x120 minute plus 1x180minute programmes, to Sky Sports for immediate transmission.
There will also be a 1x60 minute behind-the-scenes documentary narrated by Victoria Coren that will air following the transmission of the series.
William Hill, who commissioned the series to facilitate their move into televised poker, will delay its screening on satellite Channel 425 to allow Sky Sports to launch their run on January 17th at 10pm. It will then air every Tuesday at the same time. There will be a second run on Channel 425 later in the year.
Megan Stuart, Managing Director of Presentable and Executive Producer of the programme, says: “When Sky Sports had a chance to view the series they acted very quickly. We wanted to make the best poker series on the planet, with the world’s top players taking part. It’s a phenomenal field and the drama and excitement certainly match the high skill levels.”
The William Hill Poker Grand Prix pits top professional players from across the world against each other. The programmes incorporate a tournament structure which aims to put the skill back into the game, rather than quick-fire blinds designed purely for speed. Presentable are the originators of poker on television, beginning with Late Night Poker which launched on Channel 4 in 1999.
The William Hill Poker Grand Prix is William Hill’s first move to a major television tournament. Set in a luxury penthouse overlooking a breathtaking cityscape at night, the multi-level poker room oozes power and wealth. Sumptuous black leather chairs and sofas, Italian-designed lamps, marble columns and backlit fractured resin panels – the setting is truly exclusive, as befits a location for the game’s highest rollers. It is executive produced by Megan Stuart, the directors are Siân G Williams and Nick Loader, the producer is Rob Thomas.
The sale to Sky Sports was handled by Megan Stuart at Presentable.
