Presentable brings top poker tournament to Channel 4

Presentable – the independent production company behind the cult hit ‘Late Night Poker’ – is flushed with success after signing a deal to bring the search for the UK’s best amateur poker player to Channel 4.
PartyPoker.com Late Night Poker Ace is a huge tournament with a total prize pot of £100,000. Winners of online rounds are invited to do battle in the final televised stages until only one player is left standing.
The competition, to be screened in August, cements Presentable’s position as the leading producers of TV poker programming. PartyPoker.com is the world’s biggest online poker site and was recently floated on the Stock Market.
Since launching the ground-breaking Late Night Poker on Channel 4 in 1999, Presentable has been credited with turning the TV game into the epitome of cool. Lauded in the broadsheets, celebrated in the glossies, played by celebrities and enjoyed by millions, the series captured the thrills and tension of the game on the small screen for the first time.
Megan Stuart, Managing Director at Presentable, said: “Presentable is at the forefront of the poker boom that has grabbed people’s imaginations across the world. Filming such a huge poker event as the PartyPoker.com tournament is a real coup for us. It’s very much our territory and reflects our success in creating winning poker formats for both the UK and US markets.
“With the stylish backdrop and use of our sophisticated lighting, the programmes will look a million dollars, maximising the drama and danger of the game and the high stakes of the tournament. We hope viewers will be gripped by this search for a new star of poker.”
PartyPoker.com Late Night Poker Ace begins transmission on Channel 4 on August 30 and will be broadcast on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for three weeks until the winner is revealed. A Channel 4 interactive website will accompany the series.
