BBC STRIKE GOLD AT PROMAX AWARDS

THE BBC have celebrated their first ever tally of medals at the recent UK Promax Award ceremony held in London.
At the Promax Awards, which recognise the best promotional campaigns and presentations, the BBC scooped a total of 16 gold’s, 10 silvers and 11 bronze awards across the 36 nomination categories.
The BBC’s Broadcasting and Presentation Creative Services scooped 11 golds and BBC Wales picked up three. New talent too was recognised with gold and silver awards for best newcomers won by the BBC. A gold Best Newcomer went to Andrew Poyiadgi, of Broadcasting and Presentation, for his production of a for BBC Two’s ‘Robot Wars’. While his colleague Colin Platt also celebrated success when he won a silver Best Newcomer award for his trail created for BBC World’s ‘State of the Earth’ season.
But perhaps the award highspot came with gold's for the BBC Two film trail ‘El Cid’; Best Drama Promotion for BBC One’s ‘David Copperfield’ and Best Entertainment Promotion for UK Play’s ‘Stella Street’.
Best Children’s Promotion went to ‘Peek-a-boo’ (CBBC Choice) and BBC World’s ‘State of the Earth’ season won the accolade of Best Factual Promotion.
Two golds and three bronzes went to Broadcasting and Presentation’s Creative Services’ first major in-house on and off air cross-media campaign for BBC London Live which included 48 sheet poster sites across the capital.
BBC Wales celebrated success with ‘Henry’s Heroes’ scooping two golds, two silvers and two bronze awards.
Dave Howe, Controller, Creative Services and Account Management, Broadcasting and Presentation, described the Awards tally as a "terrific endorsement" of the talent and creativity of the BBC’s promotions and marketing teams.
