FINAL CALL FOR ONE-DAY DIRECTING WORKSHOP
SGRIN, the media agency for Wales, are hosting a one-day workshop sponsored by the International Film School Wales, on Directing Actors, led by director, actress and tutor, Joan Darling.
Six directors and 14 actors will be invited to participate in one of two workshops, to be held on November 17 and 18, at the International Film School Wales.
The workshop will comprise individual tuition with DGA and Emmy award-winning, Joan Darling, working through a range of techniques for working with actors, improvisational exercises, consideration of blocking, rehearsing a set scene, and actors will be asked to prepare a two minute monologue and to bring a short scene they would like to work on.
Applicants must be Welsh born or resident in Wales for two years prior to application.
The cost for directors will be £200, actors £40 plus the cost of their evening meal. Students will not be charged but will be expected to cover the cost of the evening meal.
A resume and covering letter explaining why you would like to attend the course should be directed to:Gaynor Messer Price, Sgrin, 10 Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff, CF10 5EE. The deadline for applications is November 10.
