ORAD HI-TEC SYSTEMS LAUNCH ‘CYBERGRAPHICS’

ORAD Hi-Tec Systems have announced the launch of a new 3D on-air graphics system named ‘CyberGraphics’.
Hailed as a new concept for broadcast graphics for broadcasters as well as webcasters, CyberGraphics targets the emerging on-air 3D graphics market, which is currently dominated by software tools requiring 3D design skills. However, Orad claim that CyberGraphics avoids the need for 3D graphics design experience, as users can take advantage of the simple workflow interface, bypassing the main obstacle for using 3D on-air graphics in television stations.
Offering near real-time performance, the cross-platform CyberGraphics system may be used on workstations running Unix, Windows NT or Linux.
CyberGraphics is a result of a joint development effort between Orad and Austrian company ARTS Computer Technologies.
Orad recently signed a deal to acquire the real-time 3D on-air graphics assets of ARTS Computer Technologies. The acquisition adds another European research and development centre, based in Innsbruk, Austria, to Orad’s stable.
The system’s comprehensive library of 3D graphic objects such as geographical maps, vehicles, aeroplanes and animation templates, easily accessed and manipulated by CyberGraphics, ensures that broadcasters can quickly prepare 3D graphical visualisation of breaking news items.
CyberGraphics fully complements PSY, the live turnkey broadcast system for high quality video insertions, video effects, character generation and on-air graphics produced by Getris, a recently acquired subsidiary of Orad.
CyberGraphics will be displayed live during the News World exhibition in Barcelona on November 14 to 17, and at the InterBEE exhibition in Chiba City in Japan on November 15 to 17.
