Red Bee Media reorganises senior management

Red Bee Media, formerly BBC Broadcast, has announced a reshuffle of its management team.
Key areas of future growth for the business over the next year include international expansion and the provision of video-on-demand, content to mobile and navigation services, in addition to gaining new business in the playout, access services and creative sectors in the UK.
In order to deliver growth, company strategy; sales, marketing and communication; company wide client management; and the research and development of new technologies and products are being brought together under an integrated Business Development department, with John Pink as Director of Business Development.
Chris Howe, Chief Technology Officer and Ruth Griffiths, Director of Access Services, will join Business Development to help deliver on these key areas.
The operations of Access Services, Playout and Media Services, the Production Village, Technology Support and Projects will be brought together as a single Operations Department to achieve efficiencies and improve service delivery for clients. Richard Cartland has been appointed as Director of Operations to lead the merging of these areas.
Cartland is an experienced operations professional who has spent 27 years in the UK communications sector, 12 years of this at board level. He has a proven track record of success as a manager of fast-track change, and has led a number of teams through successful mergers, acquisitions and numerous business and process efficiency projects. His former employers include BT, Virgin, Thales, Telewest Broadband, and Compagnie Generale des Eaux (now Vivendi).
Andy Bryant will continue to lead Creative, working closely with Business Development, to grow the creative business globally.
Pam Masters, CEO Red Bee Media, said: “Red Bee Media is poised for rapid growth as we roll-out our business plans across the world. With the backing of Macquarie, we have already been able to acquire the Australian Capture Centre, and will be looking at other strategic acquisitions in key sectors and markets. I am delighted to welcome Richard Cartland to the team and I’m sure he will be pivotal as we realign the business for rapid growth. These changes will allow us to focus the business to deliver on our ambitious business plans.”
