VIDFILM INTERNATIONAL ACQUIRES ANVIL STUDIOS

VIDFILM International Digital, a leading full-service audio and video post production house, has announced the acquisition of Anvil Post Production Sound Studios.
Anvil, adjacent to the Vidfilm Europe facility at Deluxe Laboratories in Denham, is one of the leading theatrical and television mixing and editorial facilities in the UK.
Vidfilm President Richard Andrews said: “Anvil is a renowned audio post facility and its list of credits and staff of talented individuals are noteworthy. This newest addition will further expand Vidfilm’s range of full-service audio post production developed specifically for the international market.

Together, this family of facilities offers filmmakers and studios a unique and truly global model for managing and producing mixes for international film releases.”
Anvil’s recently upgraded studios offer two feature film dubbing theatres, built around the latest SSL Avant consoles. Anvil have a 1,200-square foot digital recording Foley stage, extensive workstation editorial capacity and optical printing capabilities for SR-D, DTS and SDDS formats. A newly constructed 5.1 mix theatre, specifically designed for DVD mixing and formatting, will make the studio a key component of Vidfilm Europe’s expanding DVD encoding and authoring operations.
Vidfilm will retain the complete creative staff at Anvil and has named former Vid Client Services Account Manager Mike Anscombe as Studio Manager. Before coming to Vidfilm, Anscombe served as the Studio Manager at London’s highly regarded Cine-Lingual.
Anvil’s team consists of Alan Snelling, Ian Tapp and Gareth Bull. Vidfilm’s European operations will continue to be overseen by Roger Beck, Managing Director, and John Lawrence, International COO.
Ascombe said the acquisition of Anvil would broaden Vidfilm’s international presence and greatly benefit studios and filmmakers who manage multiple international productions concurrently: “With the availability of Anvil Studios, filmmakers may book mixes at one Vidfilm outlet and still be assured of the utmost creative management and diligent project supervision across multiple facility locations. The fact that Vidfilm Europe is right next door to Anvil will also allow us to offer centralized project management supported by a full-range of post services, including telecine, dubbing, editing, mixing, Foley and video and audio restoration.”
Vidfilm International Digital has a worldwide network of facilities providing production services to film studios, television distributors, production companies and newly emerging content suppliers.
Services supplied by Vidfilm include audio, digital cinema, digital media, duplication, editing, element tracking and vault storage, international ADR, library verification, standards conversion, and restoration.
