ITV Studios Makes Beale International Director

ITV Studios has announced that Mike Beale has been appointed to the newly created role of Director of International Formats.
Beale will be responsible for developing a strategy to support ITV Studios growth through format exploitation.
Beale will work closely with ITV Studios' international production companies and international distribution business, ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE), to oversee the international management of both ITV Studios originated and acquired formats. ITVS GE will continue to licence formats in territories where the business does not have a production presence, led by Tobias de Graaff, Director of Global Television Distribution.
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director, ITV Studios, said: "We've already produced several pilots produced several pilots this year and with many more in the pipeline there's a clear need for a dedicated international formats expert to ensure we exploit promising new ideas to their potential. As Adam set-out in ITV's Transformation Plan it's crucial we use local success as a springboard for international growth; we're looking forward to working with Mike to support our international teams in achieving this."

Most recently, Beale was Vice President of International Television Production at NBC Universal, having joined in 2009 with a remit to grow international television production.
Prior to joining NBC Universal, Beale was Managing Director of Alchemy Reality with responsibility for building a slate of programming and developing worldwide distribution partnerships. In 2001 Beale co-founded wholly owned ITV Studios' production company 12 Yard Productions with former Managing Director David Young.
