TSL completes quick turaround on three-channel launch in Iceland

TSL, a leading international independent broadcast systems integrator and manufacturer, has announced the successful completion of a "high-speed" contract for 365 Media in Reykjavik, Iceland.
365 Media contracted TSL shortly after NAB to design and install the playout and presentation facilities for three new channels. The digital channels are designed for carriage on Iceland’s digital terrestrial system called Digital Ísland (Digital Iceland).
Chris Brannan, TSL’s Project Manager, said: "The core factor in this was the time available to get the channels to air. 365 Media, for understandable reasons, had a short timescale and it was critical that we adhered to this. This we did and the project was a success.
The project took advantage of existing space in 365 Media’s facilities with TSL involved in the choice and installation of furniture upwards.
"Because of the overriding priority of time to air, we had to be very confident about our equipment choices in this instance. We used Pebble Beach automation, an Omneon server and Pixel Power for graphics and presentation," added Brannan.
Russell Grute, Head of Sales with TSL, said: "This was a challenging project for TSL and all the equipment suppliers because of the tight deadline involved. We are used to this, however, and it is all part of the service that we offer."
