Channel 4 commissions new Twelfth Night production
4Learning, Channel 4’s education arm, has commissioned a modern adaptation of Twelfth Night currently being filmed by Projector Productions for broadcast in 2003.
The lead role, Viola, is played by Parminder Nagra following her recent success in the popular film Bend it Like Beckham.
John Richmond, Commissioning Editor at 4Learning, comments: “This production will connect the play’s abiding themes - love and desire inflamed or misdirected, strangers accepted or rejected, authority challenged – with a big young audience both in the U.K. and internationally.”
4Learning will hold the international distribution rights.
