Custom Consoles To Unveil Additions To Its Range Of Studio Control Desks

Custom Consoles has chosen CABSAT 2025 as the MEASA market launch venue for the latest additions to its range of studio control desks and monitor displays.
The show will be held at its usual Dubai World Trade Centre venue from May 13th through 15th.
"CABSAT is ideally timed for Middle East, Africa and Southern Asia television, digital film, radio and online content producers broadcasters to experience the latest product developments without having to journey to Las Vegas for the NAB convention," said Neil Reed, co-founder and Managing Director of Custom Consoles. "Highlight exhibits on our stand, S1-G23, will be desks from our MDeskTechnical HA and Modular-R series plus an example of the MediaWall monitor support system. Each will be shown in its latest form, providing the ability to experience the robust build quality and configuration versatility that have sustained us as the globally acknowledged leaders in control room furniture development."
MDesk-Technical furniture is designed for applications where there is no requirement to accommodate large equipment within the body of the desk. M-Desk Technical HA is heavy-duty version with an electrically motorised desktop which offers the freedom to adjust the height between 66 and 125 cm above floor level. This allows operators to choose their preferred setting or transition between seated and standing work modes. Total lifting capacity is 400 kg, matching practically any control room or postproduction suite requirement.
Cable access to the MDesk-Technical HA work surface is via a brush strip spanning the full desk width. Monitor mounting points spaced at intervals along the rear of the desk can be accessed by removing their plastic plugs. Cables can be routed through the vertical support legs or via cable boxes. Also included is a continuous cable brush strip for desktop devices. Extruded aluminium legs with powder-coated feet are provided as standard, combining light weight and high structural rigidity.
Features recently added include high-strength CDF construction, metal-clad vertical supports, LED lighting at the front and sides and in the footwell, desktop cable trays feeding work-surface cable ports, plus five under-side power sockets for desktop equipment.
Available options include personal or PC storage, a wide choice of worktop surface finishes, freestanding 19 inch desktop pods, and desktop induction pads to charge mobile devices.
Module-R is mix-and-matchable control-room furniture system which offers the ability to specify aesthetically attractive and robust broadcast control-room furniture on a project-specific basis from a coordinated range of pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Module-R desks offer freedom of choice in terms of desk size, configuration and facilities. Coordinated desktop-level pods are available as single-bay sections with up 13 U chassis capacity.
Unlike one-piece control room furniture, Module-R desks can be expanded or reconfigured at any time during their working life. Auxiliary pods of various sizes for broadcast industry 19 inch rack-mounting equipment can be specified with the initial order or added later. Individual components such as desktops can be replaced easily. Customers can select from a wide range of IT-friendly options including single, double or triple width base units, 15, 30, 45 or 90 degree angled corner units and curved desk sections to follow any radius.
MediaWall is a video and audio monitor support frame system providing the same combination of structural rigidity and operational versatility as Module-R desks. Originally introduced in 2007, MediaWall has been adopted by many of the world’s leading production studios, broadcasters, security facilities and industrial process control suites. Flat-screen video displays of practically any size can be mounted in almost any configuration. MediaWall is fully adjustable to ensure optimal sight lines. Individual or multiple frames can be used in self-supporting mode or coupled directly to the studio wall. Video display screens can be positioned so that the edges meet exactly to form a continuous horizontal display limited only by the monitor panel bezel. Monitor signal and power cables are fully concealed and can enter or leave the structure at any desired point. The latest version features a series of enhancements including narrower front-to-back depth, reduced from 600 to 500 millimetres. Like its predecessor, this version is fully self-supporting and retains the option of adding coupling brackets directly to the studio wall.
