De Ster chooses Ai-Pixel television commercial logging solution

The advertising sales company for the Netherlands’ three public broadcast channels, De Ster, has opted for an Ai-Pixel digital broadcast solution to provide a digital record and retrieval system to replace an out-of-date videocassette-based logging system.
Answering customer demand for a more efficient monitoring system, De Ster will use the Ai-Pixel VRX-8100 MPEG-2 Media Network Appliance to record all programs and commercials from three TV channels, Nederland 1, Nederland 2 and Nederland 3, on a 1.6 Terabyte looped storage system.
With the Ai-Pixel solution De Ster can quickly and efficiently respond to a customer’s request of proof of broadcast by sending an email with a link to the requested video, transfer a copy to CD or DVD or even export over FTP using simple thumbnail-functionality. This will also simplify the retrieval of the right video clip for compliance and verification issues.
De Ster required a cost-effective, compact and reliable proof of broadcast system to replace its cumbersome and time-consuming videocassette library. The VRX-8100 will enable them to create a faster response for its customers, as well as provide better execution of witness recording. The Ai-Pixel system completely replaces videocassette storage, freeing up time and space while reducing human errors.
Shimon Ben Ayoun, Ai-Pixel VP Sales and Marketing, said: “Our VRX-8100 MPEG-2 Media Network Appliance is proven to work consistently and efficiently providing a cost-effective alternative to video-cassettes which is why the two leading TV Commercial sales companies in The Netherlands have chosen the Ai-Pixel solution.”
Paul van der Linden, Manager Operations, De Ster, commented: “Ai-Pixel’s solution for TV Commercial Logging was brought to us very convincingly by an existing customer who has been using an almost identical system for a couple of years now with very good results. We are looking forward to reaping the same advantages of greater efficiency as well as considerable time and cost savings in the very near future."
