Inscriber RTX to provide graphics for Tour de France broadcast

Inscriber have announced that RTX, their flexible broadcast solution, will be used by Kiwi International Design Systems (KIDS) to provide the graphics for the North American broadcast of the 2003 Tour de France.
RTX is a programming tool for custom broadcast applications in sports, elections and news. It provides broadcasters with direct control over framebuffer technology. This direct access allows broadcasters to develop custom applications to broadcast graphics, rolls and crawls, animations, real-time data, video clip playback and multi-zone support.
KIDS will provide all the graphics for Outdoor Life Network's (OLN) North American television broadcast of this year's Tour de France.
Using RTX, KIDS will supply real-time graphics and information on cyclists, tour statistics and race times.
By generating multiple graphics from a single control point, KIDS can simultaneously provide branded graphics for OLN and generic graphics as needed.
"The dynamic real time graphics creation of RTX has allowed us to build an impressive library of graphics to choose from when displaying important race information", said Graham Veitch, Chief Executive of KIDS. "This is a big advantage over standard character generator systems."
The 2003 Tour de France begins on July 5 and ends on July 27.
