CARLTON INTERNATIONAL SIGN SLATE OF DEALS
CARLTON International, part of the Carlton Communications group, have signed a slate of deals in Australia confirming the territory as a key market for quality British drama, Hollywood movies and top tier British programming.
The Seven Network, commercial broadcasters, have recently renewed their contract Programme Supply Agreement with the UK distributors for the next three years.
Public broadcaster ABC Television have licensed all three series of the popular comedy ‘Kiss Me Kate’, produced by Carlton Productions for BBC Television.
‘Big Bad World’, produced by Carlton Television and about to commence its second series on the ITV Network, has taken Australia by storm, on Foxtel’s UK.TV.
The channel have also renewed their commitment to ‘Peak Practice’, with an additional 40 episodes of the Carlton Television produced title being picked up.
Following on from the successful launch of ‘Thunderbirds’ in the UK, Carlton International are working with their Australian partners, The Nine Network and Gaffney International Licensing to launch the series in February, with an initial transmission on Foxtel’s TV1 channel, followed up with a broadcast on The Nine Network later in the year.
ABC Television have also acquired Carlton America’s four times Emmy Award winning Hollywood TV movie ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’, which stars Jack Lemmon and Hank Azaria. (CD)
