Leitch ships version 9.1 of VelocityQ NLE

Leitch has announced that version 9.1 of VelocityQ, Leitch's award-winning SD, post production non-linear editing system, is now shipping.
Version 9.1 of VelocityQ features new tools for colour correction, collaborative workflows, and audio processing, plus broadened media format support - including direct support for DV25 and DVCPRO content from Panasonic's P2 series of products - and a wide range of user interface enhancements.
"With the release of version 9.1, VelocityQ takes another major leap forward in its renowned editing capabilities," said Randy Fowlie, Leitch Vice President and General Manager for Digital Media. "Existing VelocityQ users have been eagerly awaiting these enhancements since we first introduced them in our VelocityHD high-definition editing platform, and the new features and broadened format support make VelocityQ attractive to an even wider range of new customers."
"VelocityQ's true real-time performance has enabled us to produce more television spots through faster editing and a stable working environment, and we're excited to see the benefits that version 9.1 will bring us in terms of new functionality and easier workflow," said John David Hutton of PlattForm Advertising, a Kansas-based agency with eight VelocityQ systems driving their Video Production department.
"The new user profile functions and Detect 'n Collect feature will prove invaluable for our multi-user collaborative workflow, while the new Interactive Editing paradigm boosts timeline efficiency by letting us adjust clips without stopping real-time playback. Plus, the new floating DVE window and enhanced effects keyframer will allow us to polish and refine our DVE animations in ways traditionally found only in compositors."
VelocityQ combines the Velocity software with the Quattrus multi-stream, real-time NLE hardware, forming a tightly integrated, multi-layer, SD solution.
VelocityQ features real-time, full-quality playback of four streams of compressed or uncompressed video, up to six graphics streams, and optionally two or four channels of 3D DVE.
VelocityQ 9.1 is available as fully integrated, "ready to run" turnkey solutions, or as boardset-and-software bundles for installation into qualified Microsoft Windows XP Professional workstations.
Upgrades to version 9.1 are available for existing VelocityQ users through authorized Leitch post production resellers.
