Altered Images complete West Digital installation

Altered Images, the Avid Premier reseller, has just completed a six figure installation for West Digital, the West London full service editing facility located close to BBC Television Centre.
The installation provides a Machine Control Room plus two Adrenaline SD suites, and an Adrenaline HD suite - all the very latest in Avid's range of non-linear systems. These new systems plus the additional Avid equipment will further enhance West Digital's intimate, boutique-style creative environment, with its 'Soho without the cost' proposition for producers and editors alike.
The new facilities upgrade boosts West Digital's offering to clients, which combines offline (Avid MC), online and grading (Avid DS, Symphony), 3D graphics (XSI), DVD authoring, and web-enhanced services, all under one roof. West Digital has worked with some of the biggest names in media, from the BBC to Lion, Scream Films and Ntl, plus corporate clients Shell, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Barclays and more.
Altered Images designed a fully integrated system, installed all cable networks, built all new racks, installed the MCR, and supplied and installed the Adrenaline SD suites and the Avid Adrenaline HD edit suite.
Altered Images' Sales & Marketing Director, David Johnson, explained the brief: "West Digital work with many different tape formats, including Digital Betacam, HDCAM HDV, Betacam SP, DVCAM, DVCPRO, DV and SVHS/ VHS. The key to the solution we provided for them is consistent working flexibility throughout their facilities. The new Machine Control Room brings together all West Digital's editing sources - VTR, audio recorders, both for play in and record out, and allows staff or freelance editors complete flexibility.
"They can access any VTR or Avid, then edit their material in any room throughout the building. For example, if a client over-runs on a job, he can move to a different suite and just carry on working. Each room is a quiet zone devoid of noisy kit, which means the users can concentrate on their creative brief without distractions. All this adds to the intimate atmosphere and personal attention that makes West Digital unique in the London post-production market place."
