CLIPSTER and DVS-SAN to demo multiple channel 2K playback

Digital Video Systems' CLIPSTER version 2.0 together with DI storage DVS-SAN will demonstrate their ability to enhance the DI workflow at the Broadcast Production Show.
Embracing the 4K Digital Cinema format and an extensive finishing tool-set DVS has equipped its DI flagship CLIPSTER with a whole range of new features.
With version 2.0, DVS claim CLIPSTER is the "all-encompassing conforming and finishing system", providing the highest level of quality (real uncompressed video in 4K RGB 12bit) combined with extreme performance (2K RGB 12bit transitions in real time, multi video formats, real-time effects).
CLIPSTER records and plays out data in any format, any resolution, bit-depth, colour space or file type; all in real time without conversions. The editor works with multiple resolutions in real time and freely mixes clips of various resolutions including 4K RGB 12bit on a single timeline. In software version 2.0, CLIPSTER’s visual effects functionality has also been significantly enhanced: CLIPSTER now performs primary and secondary colour correction, pan-and-scan, rotation, flip/flop, cropping and transitions in real time.
The OpenFX plug-in interface enables a huge range of additional third party effects. To get the right “film look” during grading, CLIPSTER 2.0 uses a real-time 3D look-up-table and supports colour management tools from Kodak and Arri.
Teamed-up with DVS-SAN, DVS’ premium real-time central DI storage, designed for use in the film and HD post-production environment, large amounts of data can be accessed by multiple workstations at ultra high data-rates and fast access times.
The RAID5 Fibre Channel protected storage system handles multiple real-time streams of uncompressed film 2K, which makes HD and 2K conforming, colour grading and finishing work fast and efficient. The system is upward-scaleable to many tens of terabytes and so provides enough storage capacity for several film projects.
DVS say that when combined with CLIPSTER, the system offers the intrinsic bandwidth, flexibility and file-sharing capabilities to enhance any DI and HD workflow; increasing data throughput and data availability for the production cycle.
