First ICON D-Command units in Europe ship to customers
Digidesign has announced that the first three ICON D-Command units in Europe have been installed at the Danish National Broadcasting Corporation (DR).
DR is currently in the process of building a new broadcasting centre in Ørestad to consolidate its resources into one new complex, DR BYEN, and is simultaneously moving all its broadcast operations into the digital domain.
Digidesign authorised Danish dealer SoundWare will supply a total of 28 Pro Tools|HD Accel systems, all based on Digidesign-certified HP workstations running Windows XP. The first shipment of 17 Pro Tools systems includes three D-Command units, Digidesign's brand new medium-format console system. The systems have now been delivered to DR BYEN and will be used for recording and mixing as well as for radio and TV drama editing. Configurations range up to 64 simultaneous I/O channels and include PRE, Digidesign's high quality, remote controllable microphone pre-amp.
