BBC buys rights to new Aardman feature

The BBC has acquired the exclusive UK terrestrial TV rights to the new Aardman feature-length animated movie 'Wallace and Gromit - The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit'.
Comedian Peter Kay, Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes supply the voices, along with 'Last of the Summer Wine' stalwart Peter Sallis, once again the voice of Wallace.
As well as acquiring the rights to this, the first Wallace and Gromit feature, the BBC has renewed its deal to show the three Wallace and Gromit films – 'A Grand Day Out', 'The Wrong Trousers' and 'A Close Shave' - plus 'Cracking Contraptions', a collection of shorts.
BBC Controller of Acquisitions, George McGhee, said: "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is the hotly anticipated family film of the year and we're delighted to be able to bring it to a BBC audience.
"This deal continues our strong relationship with Aardman and we're pleased to able to acquire quality British films as part of our commitment to investment in British talent."
