BBC names department heads of BBC Films

The BBC have named two high-profile appointments within their BBC Films division as part of an ongoing business strategy.
BBC Films have promoted Jane Wright to the new role of Head of Rights and Commercial Affairs. Formerly Head of Business Development, Ms Wright's enhanced role sees her managing BBC Film's commercial interests and raising co-production finance for feature films.
The newly installed Head of Rights and Commercial Affairs joined the BBC in 1995 and worked in their co-production and sales in the New York office. She subsequently moved on to the business development unit at BBC Films in London.
Isabel Begg has been appointed as the BBC 's Head of Business and Legal Affairs, and will report directly to Jane Wright. Ms Begg will have responsibility for overseeing all deals at BBC Films and brings much industry experience from her seven-and-a-half years as Head of UK Business and Legal Affairs at Miramax.
Head of BBC Films, David Thompson, said: "We have found Isabel to be a formidable adversary when she was working for the other side, so we are very keen to have her facing the other direction."
BBC Films have gained a lot of respect internationally for recent successes such as the Oscar-nominated and BAFTA winning film 'Iris'. BBC Films have won over 75 major international awards over the years including an Oscar, eight Oscar nominations, five Golden Globes and many BAFTA wards. The filmmaking arm of the BBC makes about eight films a year and is set to make a big-budget production called 'Me Again' starring Bruce Willis.
