GRASS VALLEY UNVEIL NEW PRODUCTS

IN A bid to break the mould of how broadcast and other professional content creators invest in, configure, and access powerful routing systems, the Grass Valley Group have unveiled a troika of compact, highly scalable analogue and digital signal routers.
The new systems include the Concerto Series, Tempo Series, and Bravo Series of routers. Each offers a flexible, future-proof design for a variety of applications-from multi-screen presentations to video and audio over broadband networks to traditional television-related uses.
The Grass Valley Group have also announced Encore, the first open, scalable solution for facility control. It provides broadcasters and other content creators centralised and distributed router and machine control, remote monitoring and diagnostic capabilities, and signal-integrity analysis to expand the capabilities of their LAN, WAN, and video networks, thus maximising their signal-management infrastructure investments. And with a design that will enable tighter integration with automation systems, third-party routers, and other equipment, the Encore system will promote even greater inter- and intra-facility integration.
Tim Thorsteinson, President of the Grass Valley Group, said: “Customers no longer have to make size-related decisions up front-instead, they can plan for any configuration they want. Whether it’s a system with a handful of crosspoints or one with millions, our routers and scalable facility control system address the rigorous, ever-changing demands of today’s facilities.”
The announcement is a component of the Grass Valley Group’s overarching media infrastructure solution, which provides the hardware and software ‘spine’ for applications and distribution media, including digital media production and transmission, digital presentation, and the Internet. (CD)
