DutchView Orders HD OB Unit From Grass Valley Systems

The Grass Valley Systems group within Thomson is to build a new HD OB unit for one of the leading Dutch outside broadcasting facilities, DutchView.
The turnkey order includes 10 new Grass Valley LDK 8000 high definition cameras, four Kayak HD production switchers and a Trinix digital video routing switcher. Also included in the four year partnership is replacement of up to 60 SD cameras for LDK 8000 HD cameras.
DutchView, based in Hilversum, Netherlands, already operates 4 large digital OB trucks in standard definition, previously built by Grass Valley, together with several studios.

The expandable truck will be designed and fitted out entirely by Grass Valley. A Grass Valley Kayak HD 3 M/E configuration production switcher will be installed and routing will be handled by a 128x224 Trinix router, with Gecko modular products providing the infrastructure.
